“Filmmaking Essentials”   FREE TO the PUBLIC

The Workshop will include instruction as well as practical demonstrations and hands-on training.  Topics include the basics and more such as:

  • Effectively light faces for documentary and narrative films

  • Scouting and preproduction-Outdoor Shooting

  • Mixed Light and One-Light Technique

  • Think through your lens-relationship between exposure, depth of field and lens choice

  • Learn the rules so that they can be broken for dramatic effect


DOUG LEE is a passionate Director of Photography, Film Director and Still Photographer with over 30 years experience.  He owns and operates Doug Lee Pictures, a production company intent on producing high-end, impactful visuals and content.  His award-winning work stretches across commercials, corporate, documentary and feature films.  Doug believes in the art of cinematography teaching the skills and language of filmmaking and hosts lighting and camera workshops.  He recently finished a stint as a camera operator for legendary cinematographer Dean Cundey.
